Tech giants Google and Apple have expressed their support for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The statement was made by Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who expressed their condolences for the affected people.
In a tweet, Tim Cook shared his sincere condolences for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. The Apple CEO also confirmed that Apple will donate to relief and recovery efforts in the badly affected areas. A similar message was shared by Google CEO Sundar Pichai. The search engine company has activated "SOS alerts" to help relief operations, the chief said. The service will provide emergency information to people affected by the disaster.

On February 6, 2023, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Syria and Turkey, devastating the two countries. This was followed by two more earthquakes, measuring 7.6 and 6.0 on the Richter scale, respectively. Within hours, both Syria and Turkey saw one of the most devastating natural disasters unfold. Various videos of the devastation also circulated on the internet.
The clips showed people running for their lives from collapsing buildings. Apartment buildings, hospitals and homes were devastated by a series of earthquakes. Operations to rescue people from the rubble are still ongoing. Rescue teams are conducting search operations to find survivors who are currently buried under the rubble.
Also, apart from the tech giants, most countries have expressed their support. According to recent reports, India will also send relief material and NDRF teams to Turkey. A team of specially trained dogs, medical essentials, drilling equipment and other necessary supplies to support relief activities in the country will also be provided by India. Ukraine, Russia, the US, South Korea and others have also announced their support to the two countries.
