Berlin-based AI health tech startup clare&me has successfully closed a €3.7 million investment round. The investment was led by Munich-based HealthTech investor YZR and included new investors such as Kodori Ventures and Material Ventures, as well as existing angel investors and Antler. The company aims to use the funding to develop an empathetic Clinical LLM training and continue its technical research.
Clare&me
Clare&me aims to create the world's first Clinical LLM (CLLM) to be trained by psychotherapists. In this context, it has received grant funding from the Berlin Development Bank (IBB), European funds and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The main goal of the company is to offer digital psychotherapeutic support by developing the interaction of artificial intelligence with humans in a clinical setting. Clare&me was founded in June 2021 by Celina Messner and Emilia Theye. The founders aim to provide low-threshold therapeutic self-help solutions using technology and the interaction of conversations. Even before the popularity of ChatGPT, they had already started thinking about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on humans. The result of this process was Clare, an AI-based solution for mental health. Clare helps its users by providing digital support in situations such as fear, stress and panic. The capital raised will be used for the development of a second product that includes empathic Clinical LLM training and automation of clinical history interviews. These steps aim to solidify user confidence by increasing Clare&me's collaboration with clinics.
Emilia and Celina are developing world-class AI technology to solve health and social challenges. This vision will improve the lives of people across Europe.
Christoph Klink, Partner at Antler
Three years ago we had a vision that was critically questioned. Now it is exciting to see that this vision is inevitable for many.
