The Google Docs platform will soon receive several new additions such as a timer, calendar template and other smart chips. The changes are apparently aimed at increasing productivity and teamwork for users of the well-known document editing program. Users will be able to track the time they spend on a specific task in Google Docs using the new stopwatch function. This function seems particularly useful for keeping track of working hours for a project.
On the other hand, the Calendar template will provide customers with a pre-formatted calendar that can be modified and added to their paper immediately. With this feature, users will save time when creating their calendar of appointments, events and meetings.

Smart Chips for New Stopwatch, Calendar Template and Productivity
Google Docs will also include the Smart Chips feature that was previously exclusive to Gmail. Using smart chips, users can quickly and easily reference data from other Google apps such as Google Drive, Google Meet and Google Calendar in their documents. For example, if a user types "@drive" and the name of the file when referring to a file in Google Drive, Smart Chip will automatically create a link to a file. Similarly, when a user wants to set up a meeting, they can type "@meet" and the name of the person they want to meet. And Smart Chip immediately creates a link to set up the appointment in Google Calendar.
The company is also improving its Explore tool, which suggests relevant articles to users based on the context of their documents. A wider range of information sources, including the internet and users' own Google Drive files, will now be suggested by the revised Explore function. Google claims that these upgrades will increase productivity and teamwork among platform users. All users of Google Documents will gradually receive the new capabilities over the coming weeks. Users will not need to take any action to receive the upgrades, as they will be automatically added to the platform.
Google Docs is one of the most popular document editing software platforms with millions of users worldwide. The platform is widely used by people, businesses and organizations of all sizes for its ease of use, collaborative features and integration with other Google apps. With these new updates, Google Docs is poised to become an even more powerful tool for productivity and collaboration. As Google continues to invest in its suite of productivity tools, users can expect to see even more updates and improvements to the platform in the coming months.
