Google has invested $300 million in an artificial intelligence (AI) company previously funded by former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Google Cloud has invested US$300 million in Anthropic, a startup specializing in AI-powered predictive analytics for businesses. The funding will help Anthropic scale its technology. It will also be crucial for companies to better understand their customers and make informed decisions.
Anthropic was founded in 2021 by a group of researchers led by Dario Amodei after a disagreement over company management. The team left OpenAI and founded Anthropic. There were concerns that Microsoft's initial investment in OpenAI would take it down a more commercial path and away from its original focus on the security of advanced AI. Anthropic developed an intelligent chatbot called Claude, a competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT. But this robot is not currently available. The deal involves Google taking an initial 10 percent stake. Google confirmed that it has made an investment and has a major cloud contract with Anthropic, but gave no further details.

Anthropic and Sam Bankman-Fried
Google stunned everyone by announcing that it invested 300 million dollars in the artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic. Google's investment of 300 million dollars was also confirmed by the Financial Times. However, Anthropic did not disclose the amount of investment it received. Anthropic only stated that they are an investment partner with Google.
In the same announcement, Anthropic confirmed that it had previously raised capital from Sam Bankman-Fried and former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison in a Series B fundraising round:
According to Crunchbase, the Bankman-Fried-led fundraising took place in April 2022. It reported that about $580 million of the $530 million raised came from Bankman-Fried and his former business partners. However, the figure is believed to be even higher. One FTX creditor believes that Bankman-Fried's stake in the artificial intelligence company could be as high as $1.1 billion. The FTX Creditor did not disclose the exact figure.
