MediaTek, a leading smartphone chipmaker, announced its new MediaTek Genio 700 IoT chip at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. The MediaTek Genio 700 is designed for smart home, smart retail and industrial IoT products and is an octa-core processor that is said to focus on power efficiency.

Features of the MediaTek Genio 700 Processor
Manufactured using the N6 (6nm) process, the processor has two ARM Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.2 GHz and six ARM Cortex A-55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. It also provides 4.0 TOPs AI acceleration. The chips also come with dual display support and an ISP for better images. The company explains that it allows manufacturers to customize products using Yocto Linux, Ubuntu and Android, allowing customers to easily develop their own products with minimal effort, regardless of the application type.
It supports high-speed interfaces such as PCIe 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen1 and MIPI-CSI interface for the camera. It comes with dual display support (Full HD at 60 Hz and 4K at 60 Hz) as well as support for AV1, VP9, H.265 and H.264 (video decoding). It is ARM SystemReady certified to provide a standardized and easy way to integrate the platform and ARM PSA certified for increased security.
