Plumia: A Country for Netizens
Some of us has learned a lesson, that we can do it in a different way.
The modern human civilization was found on wars, economic and political collapses… At each step the humans set higher standards of a living and working environment. This change and improvement actually never stopped and even evolving into something new. A digital country with its own citizens from the digital nomad community!
The founding citizens of Plumia are a group of entrepreneurs and thought leaders in the remote work space. They are working towards a borderless world, with foundational infrastructure to support you wherever you go, with freedom and equal opportunities for everyone.
Plumia offers to gather like-minded people in a safe network wherever they are and provide them the help they need from their co-located citizens. This citizenship is not based on nationality but the visions of people. It sounds like John Lennon, right? J
Yes you got it! Plumia is sort of an attempt to organize people who dream of a peaceful and creative world of no-wars.
The 5 Principles
The country was found in 2020 with five principles.
The first principle is
authentic participation. The community has a strong purpose, but ideas are only strong if they can make people act in the world. Being a citizen of Plumia is something you choose, and you choose it because you want to contribute.
The second principle is that
all problems are solvable. Human ingenuity is boundless.
The third principle is
be of service. A community of people who wish each other to succeed is one that is fit to succeed. And helping others is a good way to both success and happiness. Ask both what you can do for the community and what the community can do for you.
The fourth principle is that
improvements are always possible. Never underestimate the power of incremental improvements.
The fifth principle is start with
a strong foundation. We build something that is made to last. Something that will be truly wonderful when we succeed. While improvements are always possible, setting out in the right direction is also important.
The Mission of Plumia
This all reminded me the movie
Nomads Land and the movement of
Black Rock City. I will talk about them later. But what’s the mission of this movement then? As the organization says. “
In order for the world of tomorrow to thrive, we need to build an infrastructure that allows and promotes human flourishing. This is the mission of Plumia.”
