Spotify is working on a new feature that will make it possible to offer personalized playlists based on your health data collected in the iOS Health app. Personal data, especially health-related data, is a sensitive topic for users. Since the introduction of HealthKit in iOS's Health app, other iPhone apps can access a user's health data, provided the user has given consent. It is this API that Spotify wants to use to offer personalized playlists based on your sports training.

Spotify Will Create Playlists Based on Your Sport
Expert Chris Messina announced on Twitter that they found pieces of code related to HealthKit in the app on iOS. He states that HealthKit support will be available soon. As detailed in 9to5Mac" c, this allows Spotify to access information such as the user's daily exercise time, calories burned and more.
British media speculate that Spotify will be able to make recommendations "based on the types of exercises users record and even their speed". The app will be able to make good use of exercise data to create even more personalized playlists: type, distance, pace, speed, etc.
It should also be noted that for several years Spotify has offered a feature that allows runners to create automatic playlists based on their running speed, i.e. the number of steps per minute. However, Spotify has not announced such a feature at this time. Also, these specific playlists are not available. Therefore, it is unknown when this option will be made public.
