The Most Downloaded Apps in the Last 30 Days

The report on the most downloaded apps in October 2022 has been published. With Twitter trending all over the media, it's time to analyze what other apps have achieved so far in the last month.

Details about the Most Downloaded Apps

TikTok has once again topped the list after achieving 53 million new downloads. It was followed by the meta Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Instagram, in second place with 49 million new downloads, managed to overtake Facebook. The social media platform took third place with 42 million downloads, followed by WhatsApp, another Meta-owned app, with 37 million downloads. Surprisingly, ByteDance's CapCut was also among the top 5 with 31 million new downloads.

However, the results on Apple's App Store and Android's Google Play tell different stories. Only 2 of the top 5 most downloaded apps in the App Store were social media platforms, including TikTok at No. 1 with 25 million downloads and Instagram at No. 3 with 15 million downloads. The remaining three apps belonged to Google. Google at No. 2 with 17 million installs, Google Maps at No. 4 and YouTube at No. 5.

On the other hand, Instagram topped the list of the most downloaded apps on Google Play. After gaining 34 million new downloads, Meta's app helped TikTok slip to third place with 28 million downloads. Instagram was followed shortly after by Facebook, which added 31 million new users. Meta's famous instant messaging app WhatsApp came in fourth place with 24 million installs. Google's Google Sheets successfully cracked the top 5 with 21 million installs. Snapchat didn't make much of a difference in the App Store, but the platform made it into the top 10 on Google Play. The platform also made the top 10 in the combined total list.
