TikTok and Twitter are at the top of the list
The new report, led by the Integrity Institute, sheds light on comparisons between various apps and apps that are part of the International Fact-Checking Network. All fake posts have been summarized.
Many posts were analyzed and common topics that appeared to be filled with misinformation included COVID-19, travel rules for the pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and also the US elections.
It turned out how much it magnified things, with Twitter being the biggest center for misinformation and the app magnifying the issue several times over. Most of this is due to posts in the app. It is causing a huge uproar online due to the fact that there is a lot of harmful and inaccurate information on the platforms.
Some even tend to believe such well-crafted lies. This generates much more engagement than the usual content that people correctly call. After all, besides such leading apps tend to focus more on popularity; algorithms reinforce this situation even more.
Another interesting feature of this report is that Facebook is actually the platform that generates the most misinformation, but empowers it at a very low rate compared to Twitter. Apart from that, it is necessary to remember that sharing something on the platform is much easier than sharing something on Facebook.
