After ruining the initial launch of Twitter's "power to the people" verification system, Elon Musk said the social network will temporarily roll out a new multi-colored verification system next week. Under this plan, companies will get a gold checkmark, government officials will get a gray checkmark, and possibly a blue checkmark similar to the "official" checkmark that Twitter is currently testing on some prominent accounts, the Twitter owner said. This checkmark will also be applicable to non-celebrities. This innovation means that the blue checkmark will be available to older verified accounts and to people who have purchased Twitter's new $8 per month paid plan.

First Time Explanation About the Verification Mark Consisting of Multiple Colors
Musk added that the company aims to manually verify all verifications before the new verification system goes live. It's not clear what he means by this, as Twitter Blue subscribers will receive a blue checkmark. Not only that, Twitter's reduced workforce will be under pressure to manually check every verification to avoid any impersonation or "spam". Musk also announced that individuals will be able to have a second, smaller logo to indicate whether they are part of a particular organization. This organization must also verify that the individual represents them or works with them in some way.
He added that the decision to apply the blue checkmark to all individual accounts was taken because a person's reputation is a subjective matter. Earlier this month, Musk halted the revamped Twitter Blue program and said it would resume on November 29. This week, however, he suspended that plan until the Tesla CEO stops his mission at a high level. Notably, this is the first time he has mentioned using multiple colors for verification.
